2008 was a very Special year in the history of Rookwood Sound Hospital Radio, as we celebrated 21 years service to Rookwood and Llandough Hospitals! 

From our humble beginning in October 1981, when Rookwood Sound first started broadcasting to Rookwood, we marked this anniversary with a special month long broadcast across Cardiff on 87.7FM. This required a massive amount of support from local businesses, and extra time from the volunteers of Rookwood presenting programmes and fundraising to make it all happen.

There were a number of special programmes broadcast with presenters old and new on the air, 24 hours a day 7 days a week. We also had some local celebrities on the air, with Charlie Brown interviewing Cardiff author Marc Sargent. He was taking about his new book 'Foresight' which you can find out more information online.

We also celebrated with a special party for the members and supporters of Rookwood Sound at the BBC club in Llandaff!
